I'm starting Project Do Stuf today, and my first task will be to make a soundtrack for the student film starring my kids! (Student being Grades 2 and Kindergarten in this case!)
Tonight is the Cinergy Film Festival at TWU, and I'm hoping to have it done to show there as a little pre-show entertainment!

I'm just getting ready for a self-inflicted project that I will most likely be starting next week. I'm calling it "Project Do Stuf".
Project Do Stuf involves me doing, well... stuff every day of the week for one whole month. The projects are up to me but must adhere to several guidlines:
-will be anything to do with: Photography, Film/ Video, Editing, Sound Design, Music, Composition, and Recording arts
-each day's task must be completed by the end of the day ("day" being a loose term here, might end at 5AM!)
-each day's progress will be uploaded to my site/ Facebook
-suggestions for projects may also be given!
Why am I doing this? The main reasons are to kick off my new phase as a composer/ photographer/ videographer/ sound designer. Yes I am wanting to do all of those things, and yes I feel up to the task of doing all of them, and doing them well. I just finished my gig as a composer/ sound designer for an ESL program, writing over 300 pieces with my buddy Josh Friesen. Over the last 5 years I've been studying video/ photo in most spare moments, and I'm ready to dive into them head first, but I need to build up my portfolio!
I'm also hoping this project will inspire others to do stuff. We all have so many different talents, but we mostly sit on them, and let other people achieve their goals. If I can influence others to get creating, I will be most proud of that achievement!

Had a great time at my cousin Jelissa's wedding on the weekend, so great to see all of my extended relatives again, we really do have an incredible family!
Had a great day shooting with Justin Carlson the other day. The Silver Hills people were making a video showing how their process differs from the regular method of making bread. Very informative, and great bread too!
Got to shoot photos for the Fiddler show at TWU, the play was amazing! It's the first musical for TWU in a long time, and it was great. The cast is very strong and the musicians did a great job with the music. Shooting went really well too, I used the "Sandy Puc" Manfrotto tripod, and while it was insanely heavy, it was also ridiculously fast to set up each shot, and we were doing a new shot every 3 minutes for 3 hours!
After 10 good years of being with us, our border-collie/lab is starting to show some serious signs of aging. Her back leg is very arthritic, and she spends a good deal of time crying, but our vet has given us some good meds for her, so we're hoping we'll be able to keep her for a while longer. Yesterday we had a little photoshoot, just the two of us. She's such a beautiful dog!
